Not only is the handheld Live vastly improved over last season, NBA Live 08 impresses in one very specific way: It challenges you to play every aspect of the game. The new Crown feature uses a tracking system that keeps tabs on everything you're doing. And if you conquer specific challenges in any mode, you'll be rewarded by playing the 3-point shootout (hit 25 out of 30), the 2 Ball minigame (hold your opponent to under 20 points), or a franchise matchup (score 70 points in five minute quarters). Plus, victories add more jewels to your crown. It's even got surprises in store -- play your ball right, and you'll unlock unique challenges because of your accomplishments. Maybe you'll relive the 2004 3-point shootout or get challenged to a game of 2 Ball with specific parameters. Wins then unlock some wicked throwback jerseys that only a hoops historian will recognize."
